My littlest guy wants to be an artist, so he loves to draw art for me.
My second to littlest writes art for me.

That’s so funny about the teens avoiding communication with you. Teenagers moods can vary by the hour!
lol! That teenage part made me snort! The writer child is good – enjoyed reading 🙂 The plane in rain is cute…our children all giving us something different
I cherish the art that my boys give to me…I know that it will only be a matter of time that we will be at that “no communication” stage. ha ha
yeah, we live in a one-grunt being conversation house, too. at least they’re still here living with us. I’ll take that.
I don’t have any children, but I do have dogs. One is in constant communication with me while one acts more like a cat. I know I know, I’m a crazy dog lady. 🙂
I love how cats communicate! I don’t think I could handle a dog right now – that would be communication over-load! Thanks for coming by!
Heeheee. I’m loving that last thought . . .
I don’t have teenagers yet, but I do remember being one. And you are so right — avoidance of the person that you need to communicate most with and keeping it to a minimum is artful indeed. 🙂
Oh no..not looking forward to those teen age avoid mom and dad years. Not sure I understand Teen agers at all…even though I was one once…but I don’t remember being like that. I know I was…but I don’t remember. LOL
blue cotton mommy: i’d like to send you a private email, but can’t seem to find your contact info. thanks for stopping over, and your comment on my father’s day post. i’d like to tell you about an email I received on that. thank you!
and, your blog here?? out of this world.
I love the drawing and the writings are awesome! What a smart and very sweet little guy.
So I am really looking forward to those teenage years. (: Fortunately I have several years left before first born hits it!
Oh do I ever hear that! My teens just barely grew into young adulthood, but man do those memories of their…um…art, ever stick around!
Love your kids art and your teen swirly art. I know what you’re talking about. I have the instructions to edit that photo but I don’t have your email.
I have a silent son, who doesn’t feel like talking until after 11:30, at which time he shares every hope, dream, aspiration, fantasy, frustration, and crisis of faith. And then he quizzes us on it the next night. “Remember when I told you…”
I have a 14-year old son, who talks about MMA and grunge bands until I want to smother one of us with a pillow – but fails to remember things like permission slips and the fact that he’s flunking English.
And I have a 17-year old daughter who is sane and rational, except for the part where she’s obsessed with Korean Boy Bands and is now threatening to run away to Seoul when she turns 18.
And I have a 20-year old daughter who is the fulfillment of my mother’s curse that “someday you’ll have a child just like you”, and has set herself up as the de-facto queen bee in our home while she’s between semesters.
So getting them to talk isn’t the problem. It’s the scripting that needs work!
I love this! Yes, the scripting needs works! LOL
Is talking non-stop considered an art form? My thirteen year old will talk and talk and TALK endlessly. I’m kind of looking forward to the stage where he’s trying to avoid me… just kidding… a little.
Can I tell you how much I’m dreading the teenager not talking stuff? And I have twin girls, so it will be double the not talking at the same time. Fabulous!
Love that you get art in both forms.
And I suppose conversation avoidance could be considered an art form. 😉
